The Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) is a collaborative effort between Pathways to Housing DC, the DC Department of Behavioral Health, and the DC Superior Court. The goal of the UCC is to create immediate access to integrated addiction and mental health services and establish linkages to long-term community behavioral health providers to ensure effective treatment alternatives to clients.
UCC offers a continuum of services including intake and screening, psychosocial assessment, case management assessment, substance abuse assessment and referral, psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, medication management if recommended by the psychiatrist, short term case management and brief counseling. The UCC professional team includes a psychiatrist, social workers, case manager, substance abuse counselors, a peer support worker and an intake coordinator.
The UCC serves persons who have been referred to the clinic by DC judges due to their court involvement and demonstrated need for immediate mental health and/or substance abuse services. The services provided by the UCC are available to clients regardless of income level. A client may remain engaged with the UCC up to 90 days until a connection with a long-term mental health care provider is established.
Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, 403(b), and generous vacation and sick leave,
